Week 9, Expected Deliverable SKILLS we should be carrying out within our practices: -
This was our very first online session due to COVID-19.
The brief below is very clear, however i decided to include this scan, due to my scribbles and personal notes, as i feel its only best to include everything with any level or train of thought written on;
In relation to the brief questions above, Q1; using an APA reference generator. I decided to go through my formative presentation and produce a APA reference sheet, as during the formative assessment this was one fault, as i completely forgot at the time due to stress and pressure that, this was one formal and critical practice that we have to do at university level. Attached below.
In relation to Q2, and submitting an artist influence/ or designer research - I have attached several written research and analytical influences, as separate blog posts. Within the Graphic Design Processes category in my blog tab.
However , In relation to the brief question Q3 & Q4, all relating work has been included below;
Typeface: Palatino Linotype: -
Within my notes above, are explanations and aggressive notes about the typeface 'Palatino Linotype', However all the information and notes I wrote above within my note books can be found on websites, show in the screen-shots captured below;
Git hub.(11/15/2019).Microsoft.Retrieved3 march, 2020, from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/font-list/palatino-linotype#products-that-supply-this-font
Cargo.(2010-2020).Fonts in Use.Retrieved3 march, 2020, from https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/3361/palatino
Examples above, show clear examples of the 'Palatino Linotype' IN USE, within a commercial, professional or print design.
Some of my very favourites, being; 'The Wicker Man' film, movie poster. The Kindle and Ibooks font type. Alive and kicking, Simple Minds, and many more.
Although, this is great - this also reinforces to me this this font, commercially and professionally is a well used font. Making this clear, that it is a legible, well known and commercial font, to consider when producing any 'typeface' digital or print productions.
As for the further task of, 'Deconstructionism' and producing a posted or print, deconstructing and re-producing an expressive piece using the font as your main concern. Manually or physically just show evidence of this in my blog, well. Below I decided to try and experiment using the Adobe Software Photoshop, and digitally produce some level of experimental poster - de-constructing the alphabet, and re-constructing 'it' in a mountain - like - textural design. An experimental train of thought: -
And again below, with slightly more layering and textural detail - however plunged into a black and white, monochromatic and grey-scale colour palette.
Kinda cool!
