Miki Rose is a very prominent and STRONG driving force, in relation to influences - within my own contemporary practice;
Heres why: -

- 'Miki Rose is a British Designer of curiosity - inspired products. Extended, Bespoke collections of hand illustrated surface pattern designs that are applied to home-wear, textiles and lifestyle accessories'.
- Miki graduated with a First class honours Degree from UCLan, in BA(hons) contemporary craft and design, solely focusing on surface pattern.
- In addition to completing her Degree, Mimi took on many work opportunities within the fabric and wallpaper design industry.
- Miki now works within the greetings card and gift industry as an illustrator at the Great British Card Company (GBCC) LTD.
- Miki currently lives and works in Gloucestershire with her two beautiful cockapoos. (I love this so much - as this is so similar to myself, with my Cockapoo, Ozzy).

(Above and below is were i begin to analytically answer a few questions about MIKI , utilising a few sample questions from the mini brief) which went as follows;
Q&A) Miki seems to be a very hard working professional artist , with a very driven main love for Pattern Design: and this is very prominent and comes through clearly through the card designs she has created for the GBCC.
Q&A) What I specifically, love about MIKI's design style, in-particular with her card designs; are the beautifully bright colours, intricacy hand drawn detail and simply her OVERALL style and aesthetic design. Its very easy to like all the designs MIKI has produces for the GBCC, as they as simply delightful, through and through.
Furthermore, I also appeal strongly to her almost analogue and traditional style. I always have and always will be drawn and appeal to artistic design, with traditional methodologies.
I then, begin to list MIKI ROSE's educational and opportune-job history, in a list format; Due to my inspiration of her practice - and the strong impact she is having on me as an Artist/Illustrator currently in education. As shown below;
Some of Miki's designs, that are featured on The Great British Card Company, that I admire and influence my practice greatly, and their reasonings why, are: -
- 'PRIZMATIC'; Bold boarders, aesthetically text (but slightly basic) illustrations.
- 'HelloSunshine'; A fabulous/TEXTURAL/graphical design; The thing that draws me the most to this style of design, is the juxtaposition between textures on the cord and the clear transition between traditional and digital design. (I simply love the colour palettes found in this design too!)
- 'Blooming Wishes'; Again, another very analog and traditional design, as the flowers along the boarders are visibly very clear - watercolour/painted design , against some very digitally designed and software created text. Along with a very bright colour palette; A very young/female target audience.
- 'Botanica'; [SUCH AN INSPIRATIONAL DESIGN, KEY TO MY CURRENT ARTISTIC PRACTICE]: - This design is a monochromatic and juxtapositional gold pigment design, utilising a think bold boarder. (I just love, love, love this design so much!);

Analysing the 'BOTANICAL' Collection shown, below;
Their is SO much detail within these illustrations that they resonate with me, as i can see my own practice strongly within these, as i would just simply love to achieve a collection of greetings cards designs of such vast detail and detailed design - within my own practice.
Another thing I really like about this design is; The traditional 'press' style of card design, which resonates, and immediately jumps out to me from this collection; A print press is when, (when physically observing the card) the detailed areas of the Greetings card design are reversed pressed; So that the detail is raised on the reverse/front side of the card; Allowing for the design to 'stand out' far more, almost jumping off the page at you - while also producing a much more tactile printed design for the final printed outcome, and for the customer.

- An immediate Design technique I would love to include in my own practice, is the technique of; THE BOARDER.
This design does not follow the 'typical' design/boarder etiquette; As, their is a strong use of a bold boarder within this design, however - the design and illustration that has been digitally and carefully placed in frame, has been edited in such a way that the design almost SPILLS OVER the edges on the frame.
I absolutely ADMIRE this this specific Greetings card collection, Their is just SO technique and skill within these designs, that I would just simply love to include within my own practice.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
